A designer who is curious about people and the way we interact with the world. I believe that we must first understand the past to be able to design the future. My background in graphic design and my interest in technology have led me to think about interface design intuitively whilst trying to achieve a level of simplicity – an interface should be something that everybody can benefit from.

Below is a selection of my work. I have had a variety of roles and responsibilities throughout these projects – so if you’d like to find out more please feel free to email me at or click to learn more about me.close more about me.

Sony Experia Beat Dropper

Create an inspiring 'experience' for smartphones that integrates advertising wherever appropriate. The idea should provoke creativity and play to the strengths of the phone's features.

Solution

Imagine kicking a can along the street. What if this was a sound? Something that you have created and want to share. Beat Dropper - an app that allows you to create beats and record samples with your smartphone, which can then be dropped anywhere in the world using geo-tagging.

Description

Beat Dropper creates networks of people around one thread of music, enabling collaboration across cities and countries around the world. The intuitive interface means anybody can pick the beat up, remix it and drop it in another location - regardless of previous music production skills.

Milkbuster  Fridge Cam

The idea was to use technology and physical objects to innovate a product that could answer a real problem in our everyday life.

Solution

Milk theft is a real problem facing office workers. The Milkbuster fridge cam is a product designed to expose milk thieves in the workplace to the worldwide web.
It is a wireless, self-contained, internet-enabled fridge cam - disguised as a carton of juice.

Description

The cam contains a light detection unit, a 3 megapixel camera and battery pack. Simply place the device in the fridge next to your milk and whenever anyone steals it, a covert photo is taken of the culprit then instantly posted online to flickr, twitter and the milkbusters official website.

DCSF Let Drink Decide

Use the identity ‘Let Drink Decide’ to give young people aged between 13-16 the confidence and tactics to effectively manage their own relationship with alcohol.

Solution

A microsite that uses game mechanics to engage young people. The scenario prompts them to think harder about the short and long-term effects of drinking alcohol. Users are then prompted to ‘spin the bottle’ to experience the cause and effect
of drinking alcohol.

Description

Each spin of the bottle gets you a new drink - the more you drink, more severe the effects become. Made for a young and vulnerable audience who drink to get drunk. The style of the site and the characters within it are designed to attract minors by using semiotic codes and realistic after effects.

IMDM Intern Tour

A Self Initiated project, the idea was to design and build something with my fellow hyper island students from the Manchester school in mind.

Solution

A full screen website to show each destination where the Manchester Crew 1 students went for thier internships. I wanted to find a balance between the divercity of each City and the closness of the community as it was back in Manchester's - Northen Quarter.

Description

After demonstration to the crew, we have had ideas of expanding this site into a showcase of all our experiences on the course. By integrating existing social media platforms the sites content can be seen fresh and could be useful to keep track of students progress.

Prickle Press

I wanted to create a calling card with integrity, one that could represent me as a person, something with texture that made me feel good when connecting with somebody new.

Solution

I got the opportunity to work with Prickle Press, based in Brixton, London. We sourced a card which had a background story and enclosed tactile luxury when in hand. I kept the design of the card simple and inkeeping with my current online presence.

Description

Hand printed on 700gsm Gmund Bier Weizen card made from recycled beer labels, chlorine free pulp and beer fibre using a one-hundred year old Chandler and Price treadle operated letterpress called Gee-Gee and cut by hand using a vintage guillotine.

BME British Music Experience

Use integrated media to develop campaign ideas and concepts that communicate the richness of the British Music Experience.

Solution

The BME is a registered charity with the purpose to advance the education and appreciation of art, history and science of music in Britain. My concept was to create a timeline of events that could be explored in a intuitive way and rolled out across print and web.

Description

Currently in the process of building a web interface which utilises a parallax scrolling plugin, developed by colleague ED Fryed. The scroll feature became an integral part to be able to realise the interactive piece entirely. Keep checking back for updates.
